Vermont Law School
Project Overview
Vermont Law School was planning to expand when it was faced with a water moratorium (VT Act 250) that would effectively halt construction of a new $3.25 million state-of-the-art 23,500-square-foot classroom building to house eight classrooms (510 seats), a mock courtroom, offices and student lounge.Architects at Truex Cullins + Partners designed the building to meet US Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) standards. They incorporated Clivus waste treatment systems with Nepon foam-flush toilets into the project. By redirecting restroom usage from adjacent buildings that were still utilizing traditional water-flushing toilets to the Clivus and Nepon toilets in the new building, campus water usage decreased overall. This allowed the school to enlarge its facilities while complying with the requirements of ACT 250.
Vermont Law School achieved USGBC LEED Silver Certification.
