Project Overview
RI Department of Environmental Management (DEM) wanted to provide its visitors with restrooms that are sanitary, odor free, of high quality heavy duty construction, and easy to maintain while preserving the aesthetics of the state’s beautiful parks and beaches.Funded in part by RI DEM in conjunction with grants from the EPA Clean Water Act Section 319 Nonpoint Source Pollution Management, Clivus New England was able to design and engineer pre-fabricated restrooms that are self-contained waste treatment systems that emit no pollution. Site disturbance was minimized to the footprint of the buildings, and vistas and landscapes were greatly improved by the presence of these traditional looking buildings.
